ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL CLEAN UP DAY

The weather was perfect Saturday, June 18th for the Prince’s Lakes 5th Annual Clean Up Day.  A nice change from last year when the heat and humidity was nearly unbearable.

The cool morning brought out a steady flow of residents bringing their unwanted stuff filling the six dumpsters. One and a half of these forty yard dumpsters got filled with metal scrap for recycling.

Nineveh Christian Church had their youth group help transfer trash to the dumpsters. Residents generously donated to the youth for their efforts.  (The town also makes a donation to the group).  There were also volunteers from the Clerk’s Office, Street Department, Police Department and Town Council Members.

Folks from the Johnson County Correctional Department picked up several truck loads of garbage along Nineveh Road.  Our Police Department police directed traffic keeping things safe.

Kona Ice had their truck serving treats for the volunteers and the Town provided Eddie’s pizza.

I heard someone comment that they appreciate the Town making this event happen and that they came from a much bigger community that never had such an event.  Thanks again to all that made it another successful project.
